What is a Fire Evacuation Diagram?
Emergency Evacuation Diagrams is an Australian Standard requirement in accordance with AS 3745-2010 which provides emergency and evacuation information to occupants and visitors in a facility.


Emergency Evacuation diagrams can assist building occupants and/or visitors to determine the location of fire-fighting equipments, means of raising the alarm and also the optimal routes to use when evacuating the facility. This is why it is imperative that each evacuation diagram is correctly orientated, simple and easy to read


Who Needs Fire Evacuation Diagrams?
All workplaces must have evacuation diagrams and signs.


Where Should These Diagrams be Located?
The location of the evacuation diagrams is determined by your Emergency Planning Committee, or a building fire safety advisor can determine the number of diagrams for you.


How Often do These Diagrams Need to be Updated?
Evacuation diagrams must be updated as soon as any modifications to the building’s layout or firefighting equipment occurs. Evacuation diagrams should be reviewed and revised every 5 years and the validity date updated.
